A Little Background!

Hmmm…where do I start?

Well, I am an Okie born into a wonderful family of a loving mother and father, one brother and three sisters, raised out in a rural area of Northeastern Oklahoma, close to the little but great town of Inola.  I am a Christian and currently serving the incredible Marines and Sailors within Marine Corps Installations West as the Force Chaplain, headquartered at Camp Pendleton, California.  I am married to my most incredible wife and I have two wonderful children, a daughter and son, all whom I love dearly! As far as my career goes, I have been boots on deck in the Navy since May 6, 1984.  I have been both enlisted and officer, and served in both capacities as active duty and reservist.  While serving in the Reserves as Command Chaplain of NMCB-22 (the Fightin’ Seabees), I deployed with them in Operation Iraqi Freedom, working throughout many locations in the Al-Anbar Province and experiencing the incredible, free Iraqi elections.  Afterwards, I was asked to come back to active duty and after much prayer and consideration, my wife and I accepted.  Since then, I have served in various commands in Japan like Destroyer Squadron Fifteen, forward deployed out of Yokosuka, Japan, Director of the CREDO Northwest program serving personnel throughout the Puget Sound area and Chaplain of Coast Guard District Thirteen out of Seattle which covers the Pacific Northwest.  I was the command chaplain on the Nimitz Class Aircraft Carrier, USS JOHN C. STENNIS (CVN 74), followed by being the Force Chaplain at COMNAVAIRLANT over all the east coast aircraft carriers and wings. I am very proud to serve those who serve, as a Navy chaplain … there’s nothing like it!  We’re always looking for top-notch, well-trained ministers who are up to the challenge and if you are interested, you can get a lot of information by visiting the Navy Chaplain Recruiting Website.  It will not only give you the requirements, but point you in the right direction to receive more info if you wish. Take care and may God greatly bless your day with Joy & Peace!
